Cultivating Connections sponsors wisdom circles, sacred celebrations, workshops, retreats, and conferences. Topics and themes for these sessions focus upon ecology, spirituality, and the new cosmology. Recent works promoted by Cultivating Connections include the 2001, 2004, 2005, and 2007 EarthSpirit Rising Conferences; the Julia Butterfly Hill three-city, four-day, “One Makes the Difference” events and the quarterly community-based Sacred Celebration. Serving on the Board of Directors for Cultivating Connections is Mark Steiner, Catherine Browning, and Alex Cleveland.

Cultivating Connections is inspired by the Creation Spirituality tradition and movement. Creation Spirituality is an ancient wisdom tradition which has its roots in the philosophies of the great world religions and indigenous traditions.

Cultivating Connections affirms that it does make a positive, hopeful difference in this universe and seeks to be a receptive influence for the creative powers of the universe.

Through building community which honors diversity, promoting individual confidence and affirmation, the provision of practical suggestions for implementing change, the empowering of creativity, the promoting of environmental awareness, the advocating of respect for all of creation, and the support of solidarity through spirituality, it seeks to live by the slogan: “There Is Another Way!”
